This blog is about one of my first technical hobbies, the 27Mhz (11 meters) Citizen Band.
After a very long break I finally got back on air, because the fun and excitement of making a radio contact with somebody else thousands of kilometers away just trough the means of a good antenna combined with rare atmospheric conditions is not easy to forget.
In this era of total GSM coverage though, more than one hundred years after Guglielmo Marconi first sent a radio wave across the Atlantic, using a transmitter-reciever for long distance contacts seems to have been left to only a handful of people. Or maybe I am wrong ? The fact of the matter is most of the DX clubs I knew 10 years ago are gone, and I don’t really see new ones. We will see.
